The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has pledged to run issues-based campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wadada said his campaign will focus on programmes and policies that will improve the living standard of the people of the state, rather than attacking political opponents for cheap political gains.
He stated this at the inauguration of 13 local government area coordinators and 13 women leaders of the Wadada Project held in Lafia.

Wadada, represented by the chairman of the Wadada Project and Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Kwanta Yakubu, said the movement would not engage in politics of bitterness.
Yakubu, who is also the overseeing commissioner, Ministry of Works and Housing, inaugurated the coordinators on behalf of the Senator, saying that the appointees are expected to coordinate activities of the project across the 13 LGAs of the state and deepen engagement with communities, stakeholders, women and youth groups.

He described the Wadada Project as a broad-based movement comprising professionals, politicians, business leaders, intellectuals, women and youth leaders, community influencers, artisans, farmers, students, persons with disabilities and other patriotic citizens committed to the progress of Nasarawa State.

According to him, the selection of the coordinators and women leaders followed rigorous consultations and assessment to ensure that only credible and capable individuals were entrusted with the assignment.

“Your appointment is a testament to the confidence reposed in your capacity, integrity and ability to deliver on this important assignment. You have passed the test of fire and we are confident that you will justify the trust placed in you,” he said.

Kwanta charged the appointees to remain committed to grassroots mobilisation, effective stakeholder engagement and the ideals of the movement.

“For us in the Wadada Project, we are going to drive an issue-based campaign. We will not tread the path of our opponents because we have a sellable candidate who has paid his dues in serving the people and enjoys mass appeal across Nasarawa State,” he added.

He explained that the mobilisation effort was aimed at sustaining the development strides of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, whose administration, he said, had recorded significant milestones under its “Exceeding All Expectations” agenda.

He called on APC members, stakeholders, women, youths and supporters across the state to rally behind the movement to ensure victory for Senator Wadada in 2027.
