According to a statement signed by the sector’s Public Education Officer, CRC Abdullahi Labaran, the accident happened at about 8:23 a.m. near Kasuwar Dogo, Dakatsalle.

The crash involved a Toyota Bus with registration number KMC 171 YM and a DAF trailer marked GWL 422 ZE.

Preliminary investigation by the FRSC rescue team, revealed that the collision was caused by a route violation by the bus driver, resulting in a head-on impact that triggered a fire outbreak which consumed both vehicles.

The statement disclosed that 24 people were involved in the crash, with 21 confirmed dead and three others sustaining varying degrees of injuries.
