Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has disclosed the registration of 2,235 intending pilgrims for the 2026 hajj.

It assured the intending pilgrims that preparations were in top gear to ensure a smooth, well-coordinated and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage for them.

Speaking to journalists at the agency’s secretariat, the executive chairman, Alhaji Ali Musa, affirmed that the commission has concluded major arrangements ahead of the annual holy journey, including travel logistics, accommodation and feeding agreements with relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to him, the registration figure includes both private applicants and designated government officials expected to participate in next year’s pilgrimage.

He stressed that the Agency is working tirelessly to avoid lapses and ensure every registered pilgrim receives full support from documentation to arrival in the Holy Land, declaring firmly that no intending pilgrim from Sokoto will be left behind.

Alhaji Musa expressed appreciation to the Sokoto State Government for what he described as consistent generosity and unwavering support toward pilgrims. He noted that the government has remained committed to improving the welfare of citizens embarking on religious obligations, both at home and in Saudi Arabia.

The chairman assured that with early preparations, transparent processes, and strengthened collaboration with Saudi partners, Sokoto pilgrims will enjoy improved accommodation, timely feeding arrangements and enhanced welfare throughout their stay.

He emphasised that the 2026 Hajj exercise will reflect efficiency, dignity and the true spirit of service, as the Agency is determined to deliver one of the most organised outings the state has ever recorded.

With months ahead of departure, Sokoto appears poised for a well structured and successful pilgrimage season, as authorities continue to fine tune operational strategies for the comfort and spiritual upliftment of all 2,235 registered pilgrims.
