The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has vowed to place more emphasis on the promotion of local content and talent in the engineering sector in the country.

Chairman of NSE, Port Harcourt Branch, Rivers State, Engr. Isarsoari Ateke, disclosed this at the weekend when he led the executive committee of the group on a visit to the managing director of BG Technical Limited, Chief Geoffrey Onuoha.

Ateke stated that the development of local content is a key priority for the engineering sector in Nigeria, which will enhance the local production of good products and services.

She said: “NSE places a strong emphasis on promoting local content and talent. The development of local content is a key priority for the engineering sector in Nigeria, where your product and services are locally produced.”

The NSE chairman announced that the branch will be organising the local content workshop this year, and urged engineering companies operating in the state to participate actively.

Responding, Chief Geoffrey Onuoha, who was represented by the chief operating officer (COO) of the company, Engr. Udoka Onuoha, expressed his eagerness to participate in the upcoming NSE conference and pledged support and sponsorship where necessary, underscoring the company’s dedication to advancing engineering excellence.
