4 Burnt To Death In Lagos Lounge

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of four persons in a fire accident that occurred on Sunday at a lounge and bar in Baale Road, Olodi Apapa area of Lagos.

The Police Command’s Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to journalists in Lagos on Monday.

He remarked that a distress call was received at Tolu Division that a fire gutted a lounge and bar on Sunday at about 07:45am.

He stated, “Based on the report, teams of policemen and firefighters were swiftly mobilised to the scene and the fire was successfully put out as a result of the efforts of all the teams.

“Four of the company’s staff, who are yet to be identified, got burnt beyond recognition in the fire.”

SP Hundeyin, however, added that the corpses had been evacuated to Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) Morgue, Yaba for autopsy.

The police image maker further said that the cause of the fire and the value of the property destroyed were yet unknown while adding that an investigation was in progress.
