No fewer than four people were reportedly killed, with many Injured in the violence that erupted in Esa-Oke, Obokun local government area of Osun State over the appointment of a monarch for Ido-Ajegunle by the Osun State government.

It would be recalled that the state government announced the appointment of Prince Timileyin Ajayi as the monarch over Ido-Ajegunle by the state government.

It was gathered that tension mounted in Esa-Oke following the announcement of a monarch on a community in their domain without the approval of the Owamiran of Esa-Oke.

The state command PPRO, Yemisi Opalola, said the command deployed men to the community to broker peace and assured that peace would be restored soonest.

However, the Esa-Oke community has accused the state government of being the brain behind the crisis by imposing a stranger as a monarch.

Addressing newsmen in Osogbo yesterday, Mr Oladiti Awodiran, who spoke on behalf of Esa-Oke Central Union, disclosed that no fewer than four people were killed, with many wounded in the melee that erupted in the community on Monday morning.
