Operatives of the Lagos Police Command from the Isokoko Division have apprehended four men who specialized in the production of counterfeit drinks in the Agege area of Lagos.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a post on his X handle formerly Twitter on Thursday, said they were nabbed by the police officers after receiving credible information about their nefarious activities.
He said, “Officers of the Isokoko Division, acting on credible information, raided a house in Agege where fake alcoholic drinks were being produced.
“The police arrested four people behind the illegal distillery and recovered fake drinks, empty bottles, and labels of different brands. Investigation is ongoing,” Hundeyin said.
In another development, the state’s Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab in response to the viral video of some miscreants extorting traders and other Lagosians on a pedestrian bridge in Yaba, has directed the Corps Marshal of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps @LAGESCOfficial to immediately arrest the persons and the officer involved.
The Commissioner said the arrested persons will be arraigned immediately in court while the clampdown on those on the run would continue.
