4 Men In Police Net For Trying To Sell Stolen Truck

Police in Oyo State have arrested four men while trying to sell a stolen truck for N2.5 million in Ojoo area of Ibadan, the state capital.

The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams, who paraded the suspects said the trailer was stolen from Sanyo area of Ibadan metropolis.

 

Williams explained that the truck was packed at a roadside after it developed fault, but before the driver arrived with a mechanic, the suspects had repaired it and taken it to Ojoo area and were negotiating to sell it for N2.5m.

He gave the names of the suspects as Adams Mudasiru, Moses Adeyemo, Salami Isiaka and Wasiu Adeleke.

 

The police commissioner said that during the transaction, Salami presented himself as the owner of the stolen vehicle, adding that he made fake documents to enable him sell the struck to Moses Adeyemo.

 

“One Hakim Bello Owolarafe, owner of a Mack truck with Reg No: LSD 579 YA, reported at the Sanyo Police Division, Ibadan, that he gave the truck valued at N16 million to Ibrahim Olawale (driver) and that he parked the vehicle on the Ibadan Expressway around Sanyo area on May 21, 2022, due to some faults”.
He stated further that when the driver returned to the place where he parked the vehicle, he discovered that it had been removed by an unknown thief or thieves to an unknown destination.
“Based on investigation and credible intelligence, one Adams Mudasiru ‘m’ and Moses Adeyemo were arrested alongside the stolen truck at Ojoo area Ibadan from where he wanted to sell the said vehicle to Moses Adeyemo and Salami Isiaka at the rate of N2.5m.

 

“Meanwhile, Salami Isiaka presented himself as the owner of the stolen vehicle. He made fake documents to enable him sell the said truck to Moses Adeyemo,” Williams said.
