Detectives of Ilasan Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested five suspects for car snatching, along with the buyer of the stolen vehicle.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that the robbery was perpetrated by a criminal syndicate using a locally manufactured firearm.

According to him, August 1, 2025, a taxi driver reported that three men, who had ordered his services along Platinum Way, Jakande, Lekki, boarded his black Toyota Corolla.

He said, “During the trip, one of the suspects pointed a locally made pistol at him and kicked him out of the vehicle while the syndicate members fled with his vehicle.”

Following investigation and intelligence-led operations, the detectives arrested five suspects, Favour Sunday aged 25, Ikot Moses aged 28, Dickson Ighobue Harrison aged 35, Joshua Adedamola aged 27 and Daniel Jonathan aged 26.

Hundeyin further said, “Investigation revealed that the vehicle was sold for ₦500,000 to one Wasiu Arinola aged 40, who dismantled the car and sold the parts separately.
