Newly recruited 5,349 teachers in Abia State have undergone a 12-day capacity training in Aba, ahead of the September 22 resumption date of schools for the 2025/26 academic session.

‎At the end of the training, the commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Goodluck Ubochi charged them to be committed to the transformational initiatives of the government in education .

‎His words: “The training was designed to properly equip you with the modern techniques, skills, ethical standards and the right mindset for effective service delivery.”

According to the commissioner, the training was organised by the government in conjunction with the Education Reform and Innovation Team (ERIT).

Ubochi, who noted that it marked a remarkable step in their growth in the teaching profession, urged them to replicate all they were taught in their classes.

“Don’t let this opportunity you have get into your head and you get out there and you think the people you’re meeting are nobodies Many of them trained some of you here.
