The Yobe State Police Command’s public relations officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, has verified the occurrence of the accident. He cited excessive speed, reckless driving, dangerous overtaking, and substance abuse among commercial drivers as contributing factors to this unfortunate event.

In a statement, Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and offered prayers for the swift recovery of the injured. He urged all drivers and road users to strictly observe traffic regulations and refrain from actions that could jeopardise their safety and that of others on the road.
