When contacted,  the director of Borno State Emergency Management Agency (BOSEMA) , Comrade Abdullahi Suleiman said report of the incident is yet to reach the agency, promising to make inquiry of the incident and report back.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the accident occurred in an primary school turned IDPs camp where scores of the IDPs live, and that the affected classroom had been weakened from a previous fire outbreak and recent heavy rainfall in the area.

Monguno has a mega camp accommodating IDPs that are from local government areas the Boko Haram terrorists are still hibernating.
