Osun 2026: Fadahunsi Insists His “Kill Accord” Comments Were Misrepresented
Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, has denied claims that he incited violence ahead of the Osun State governorship election, insisting that a viral video circulating on social media misrepresented his comments.
The Osun East senator said portions of his speech were deliberately edited to create a false impression of what he actually said during a political gathering.
According to him, he only requested voters to “kill” the Accord Party with their votes, adding that, as an elder statesman, he would never incite violence.
He, however, accused Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of allegedly importing political violence and terrorism into his senatorial district ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
It could be recalled that Adeleke called for the arrest of Fadahunsi over alleged inciting remarks against supporters of the Accord Party.
Fadahunsi, who spoke at a press conference in Osogbo on Wednesday after honouring a police invitation over his alleged inciting comments, alleged that 30 members of the All Progressives Congress APC had been killed within the last month, claiming that the violence was designed to intimidate opposition supporters and prevent them from coming out to vote.
According to him, “Adeleke created terrorism from Ede into Osun East, the stronghold of the APC, to destabilise us so that people will not go out en masse to cast their votes.”
Fadahunsi, who chronicled several incidents of violence in Ijesaland, alleged that four people were killed while 16 others sustained gunshot injuries during a crisis over the control of local government administration.
He, however, urged residents of Osun East to remain resolute and participate in the election, assuring APC supporters that their votes would determine the outcome.
He said the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO, would emerge victorious in the election.
“By August 15, when all these have ended, let them go around talking grammar where they feel like. The people of Osun State have understood the game; they are devilish and are ready to reject them. AMBO will win the governorship race,” he said.
