The Chairman of Hong local government area, Hon Usman Wa’aganda confirmed the fresh killings, revealing that one resident was missing while houses and property were destroyed by the attackers.

Wa’aganda also stated that a local vigilante died after a bomb exploded while attempting to secure the area.

According to him, a police patrol van from Garaha Police Station was also destroyed by Improvised Explosive Device (IED) but no personnel was killed.

“The occupants of the patrol van had exited the vehicle moments before the explosion,” he said.

The chairman said fear of the IEDs planted by the insurgents had made access to the scene of the attack difficult.

Wa’aganda appealed for deployment of military to the area and shelter for the affected persons.

“As I’m talking to you now, many people have not returned home and the scenes of the attack is not accessible due to fear of IEDs planted by the insurgents,” he noted.

“We are appealing for more military deployment and shelter interventions to the affected victims”.

Efforts to get the Nigerian military for more details were unsuccessful as at the time of filing this report.
