70 Houses, Yam Barns Destroyed By Rainstorm In Plateau

No fewer than over 70 houses and yam barns were destroyed by windstorm that wreaked havoc in Mabudi, Sabon Gida as well as other communities in Langtang South local government area of Plateau State.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the devastating storm which accompanied the rainfall left a trail of destruction at its wake.

A resident of the area confirmed that about 70 houses had their roofs blown off, while some other buildings collapsed.

A resident, Nanbol Nanzing, whose community was affected by the storm, lamented the incident and called for intervention from the state government.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Langtang South local government, Hon Nanfa Nbin confirmed the incident in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr Iliya Bako.

Nbin stated that the local emergency management committee in the LGA led by the deputy chairman, Hon. Julcit Musa has visited the affected households.

“The council boss sympathizes with the victims and called on them to accept the disaster as God’s will,” the statement said.
