70 Nigerians Benefit From Scholarship Program To Study Abroad

In its continuous commitment to advancing education and providing comprehensive support to individuals, the International Scholarship Initiative (ISI) in celebration of its fifth anniversary has announced 70 new students as beneficiaries of its 2023 scholarship program.

The Initiative revealed that it has provided scholarships to nearly 200 Nigerians over the past four years, adding that these scholarships have transformed lives, offering recipients the opportunity to pursue higher education and excel in their chosen fields.

At an event held to honor the 2023 scholarship recipients over the weekend, had in attendance guests and beneficiaries who shared their remarkable journeys.

In his remarks, ISI President, Victor Ogunmola highlighted the vision and dedication of ISI. He emphasised the transformative power of scholarships, narrating their personal journey of receiving a scholarship during their own education. “ISI remains committed to building an innovative society and providing opportunities for motivated individuals to change their career trajectories.”

While pointing out challenges encountered in 2020 due to various factors, he said ISI successfully sponsored a considerable number of scholars, ranging from 25% to 46%. “The recognition of the scholars’ achievements underscores the significance of being awarded an ISI scholarship.

Ogunmola, in addition to the scholarships, called for media partnership to propagate the mission of ISI. “Through collaborations with reputable news organizations, ISI aims to raise awareness and garner support for its program. The organization envisions a society where individuals contribute to the growth and development of their communities.

Also speaking, The moderator of the event, Olufemi Fajolu, expressed gratitude to the attendees and emphasized the significant impact of ISI scholarships on the lives of Nigerian students.

“With the introduction of the new cohort, consisting of 70 students, ISI continues its mission of providing comprehensive support to deserving scholars.”

A beneficiary and partner with ISI, Ms Olubunmi Osazuwa, in her remarks stressed the invaluable role ISI played in her life.

The event also featured Hanatu, who oversees ISI operations, highlighting the progress made since January and expressing gratitude to all those involved.

An ISI scholar, Habib Muhammad described the program as a game-changer, citing the opening of training opportunities at prestigious institutions.

Also, Cecilia Ezenaya, a student currently benefitting from ISI’s support, shared her personal experience and praised the organization for its multifaceted assistance.

Esther Oloyede, a 2019 ISI scholar, commended the organization for its commitment to supporting, mentoring, and nurturing students’ growth. She said ISI instills a mindset of readiness and encourages scholars to pay it forward by helping others, fostering a culture of support and collaboration.
