7,688 Rural Dwellers Get Akwa Ibom’s N10bn Lifeline

Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has disclosed that his administration has lifted 7,688 rural poor drawn from the 10 federal constituencies with a N10 billion lifeline and other incentives.

He stated this at the grand finale of the Town Square Meeting/Empowerment series at Etinan Federal Constituency, where he took stock of the empowerment rally that commenced about six months ago, explaining that the grants covered vital areas of farming, trading, equipment support, cars, and mini buses.

Speaking during the event held at his hometown, Nsit Ubium local government secretariat, Ikot Edibon, the governor disclosed that 844 people from Etinan Federal Constituency received N361.4 million worth of grants for the different empowerment packages.

He said all the beneficiaries were selected from the ARISE portal, and urged everyone, especially youths, to take advantage of it.
