82 Bag First Class As Bingham University Graduates 1,576 Students

Bingham University in Karu, Nasarawa State, has graduated no fewer than 1, 576 students with 82 attaining the first class degree mark.

At the institution’s 6th convocation ceremony that comprised the 2024/2025 graduating sessions, 464 students got Second Class Upper degrees, 260 got second class lower degrees.

Forty students got third class degrees, while two got pass degrees and unclassified (Barchelors pharmacy, MBBS, OD) 268 making it total of 1, 116.

Post-graduate programmes produced 460 graduands comprising 44 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD), 158 Academic Masters, 200 Academic Masters and 58 Postgraduate Diploma.

The vice-chancellor, Prof. Haruna Ayuba, announced this at the occasion to commemorate the 6th convocation ceremony and the 20th anniversary of the university yesterday.

According to him, both undergraduate graduands and postgraduate’s made up 1,576 graduands.
Ayuba said the celebration was not only the academic achievements of the graduands, but also two decades of commitment to educational excellence, spiritual development, institutional growth and societal development.

According to him, over 20 years ago, Bingham University was founded with the vision of providing quality higher education rooted in the fear of Christ.

“Over these two decades, our journey has been marked by resilience, strategic growth, and a steadfast dedication to transforming lives and communities.

“We have built a reputation as an institution that nurtures leaders and change-makers across Nigeria and beyond.

”To the glory of God, today, we are gathered for the awards of first and higher degrees to deserving graduands of the 2024/2025 academic sessions, and to celebrate our 20-year journey through the unveiling of our commemorative Book,” he said.

Ayuba said the university had improved in infrastructure, especially in the construction of additional student hostels, laboratories, classes and other learning facilities which include construction, landscaping, and furnishing 109-room students’ hostel 436-bed space among others.

He further said the university had received a grant worth N220 million for the construction of the Faculty of Law library from the Nigerian Upland Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The VC said the university had received the results of the six undergraduate programmes that were accredited in October/November 2024 by the National Universities Commission(NUC).
