Embattled Adamawa REC Faces INTERPOL Friday

The International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) will on Friday grill the detained Adamawa State resident electoral commissioner (REC), Barr. Hudu Yunusa-Ari for questioning over the role he played in the last Adamawa State gubernatorial election rerun.

In an invitation letter dated April 27, 2023 and signed by INTERPOL vice president and head of the National Central Bureau (NCB), AIG Garba Umar, It asked Yunusa-Ari to report to its office on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 10am.

The bureau also asked Yunusa-Ari to contact CSP Jolugbo Moses.

Part of the letter read: “This Bureau is investigating a case of conduct likely to cause breach of peace, violation of oat of neutrality, impersonating a collation/returning officer, disobedience to lawful order/directive, impersonation and announcing false governorship result of the just concluded Adamawa State governorship supplementary election of 15” April, 2023 in which your name featured prominently.

“In view of the above, you are hereby requested to report at the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja office, Police Force Headquarters, Shehu Shagari Way, Central area, Abuja to interview the assistant inspector-general of police, INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja on Friday 5 May, 2023 at 1000hours.”
