Sports Ministry Task Associations On Grassroot Sports Devt

The Ministry of Sports Development, Kaduna state has tasked the Kaduna State Athletics Association board led by Hon. Sani Shehu Abbas on grassroots development, as basis for sports development.

Speaking after inaugurating the new board at the Media Center, Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, the Acting Deputy Director Sports Administration , Malam Aliyu Adamu, who represented the Director Sports Administration, congratulated the chairman and members of the Kaduna state Athletics Association board, urging the new board to work together with the athletics coaches and the ministry. 

“I want to call on the members of the new athletics board to help the Ministry to ensure the mandate of grassroots development. Members of the new board should cooperate with coaches and the Ministry to achieve the mandate.”

Chairman of the board, Hon. Sani Shehu Abbas, in his address, said “my strong desire is to move the Kaduna state Athletics Association to greater heights with the support of the sports ministry, board members, coaches and athletes, we can achieve greatness. Everyone has a role to play. 

“We will ensure that athletics materials are provided for the athletes, regular tournaments will be organised to test and sharpen their skills, including sponsoring them to tournaments outside the state. Together with the coaches, we must train, guide and support these athletes to become better in character, conduct, discipline and performance.”

Other members of the athletics board are Malam AbdulRazaq Usman (Vice Chairman), Obadiah Diji Haruna, Micah John, Alhaji AbdulRaheem Aodu, Hon. Ibrahim Nabayi, Coach Michael Monyei (representative of state coaching association), Goodluck Akpodeh (representative of NAATO), Simon Agada, Zakari Haruna Isah, Oma Innocent, AbdulMalik Mamman, Isyaku Abubakar, Charles Yayock and Adamu Mohammed (Secretary).
