The groups urged the ruling party to waive aside sentiments and do the needful by choosing a candidate that can deliver on the campaign promises of the party stressing that such a candidate is no other than the present House Committee Chairman of appropriations.

The statement on behalf of the group which was signed by its Coordinator Hon. “Aside the Nigerian Youths, all Nigerians are behind the candidacy of Rt Hon Mukhtar Aliyu Betara and we believe the ruling party as well as the opposition parties in the Green Chamber is behind him because it is their expectations that with him as Speaker of the House, there will be positive change and the country at the end of the day will be better off for it. We are confident that Betara has the ability to carry all lawmakers along in spite of political and party differences because a lot of new members will be coming into the house. Therefore, Betara will be a perfect fit as the country’s next speaker because of his long legislative experience.”
