President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, took President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on a comprehensive tour of the State House, familiarising him with the seat of power.
The visit occurred after both leaders participated in the Juma’at prayers at the State House Mosque.
Escorted by a substantial entourage of Presidency officials and security personnel, President Buhari and his successor were guided on the tour by Ambassador Lawal Kazaure, the State Chief of Protocols (SCoP).
Upon reaching the Press Gallery, an adjacent area to the Council Chambers, the two leaders stood silently for a few minutes, attentively listening to their guide, Ambassador Kazaure.
However, they refrained from engaging with the awaiting State House correspondents, who were eager to ask questions.
LEADERSHIP reports that a similar tour took place at the Vice President’s Wing of the State House on Thursday, where Vice President Yemi Osinbajo introduced Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, to the premises.
This action by President Buhari to show President-elect Tinubu around the State House reflects a significant step in the transition process, fostering a smooth handover of power.
