Father, 47, Jailed 30 Years For Raping 14 – Year – Old Daughter In A/Ibom

For having a carnal relationship with his own biological daughter, age 14, a randy father, Samuel Adesina, 47 year-old, has been sentenced to spend 30 years behind bars.

LEADERSHIP Weekend gathered that the convict, a native of Ondo State, committed the offences at his residence on Aka Itiam Road, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

In an extra-judicial statement, the convict, Adesina, according to the particulars of the case, had confessed to having sexual intercourse with his daughter since May 2020, during the lock – down period of the dreaded COVID-19 malady.

Consequently, the State High Court presided over by Justice Gabriel Ette, found Adesina guilty of rape and incest in the judgment protracted case.

In evaluating the evidence before the court, Justice Ette, applied the provisions of Section 135(1) of the Evidence Act 2011, as amended, before finding the defendant guilty of both charges.

The court, therefore, sentenced Adesina to 20 years in prison for rape, and an additional 10 years for incest, bringing the total sentence to 30 years.
