This is just as the national president, NUTGTWN, Comrade John Adaji appealed to other banks and other sectors to assist the textile sector to regain its lost glory in terms of job creation.

Speaking with LEADERSHIP on phone, Adaji expressed the displeasure of the union over how many sectors, manufacturing outfits have sidelined patronage of the Nigerian textile industry.

“I am very proud of what Ecobank is doing by involving our Adire producing sector. By this, the Adire sector will be able to rise. How I wish other banks, financial sector and other sectors of the nation’s economy should emulate Ecobank in promotion of Nigerian textiles. Ecobank looking inward is a big step that can make the textile industry wake up again,” he said.

Recall that Ecobank Nigeria, in bid to encourage more patronage of made in Nigeria local fabric, entered into partnership with the Adire sector of the NUTGTWN.
