Radda Assures Katsina Residents Of Good Governance

Dr Dikko Umar Radda and Hon Faroq Lawal Jobe have been sworn in as governor and deputy governor of Katsina State respectively.

The state chief judge, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar, performed the oath of allegiance to the two personalities at the Muhammadu Dikko stadium witnessed by former Governors and Deputy Governors, traditional rulers as well as thousands of residents of the state.

Former governor, Aminu Bello Masari, immediately after the oath of office, handed over the symbol of authority to  Radda and left the venue, as the new governor inspected the guard of honour and parade staged by the troops of Nigeria Police Force, Katsina state command.

Delivering his inaugural address, Governor Radda said politics is over and he now belongs to every citizen of the state, stressing that his administration will try its best to create a new approach to governance that will be inclusive and diverse, focusing on solid policy implementation and delivery.

Reaffirming to be committed to building on the strategy policy which was subjected to review by over 200 experts to build a better future for the people of the state.

 

He said, “I will not hesitate to change members of his administration who do not deliver objectives because the people deserve nothing less from us as a government, the driving force of our administration will be the service to the people, equity and justice for all.

“We will run a people-oriented government and resist anything compromising our ability to put our people first. I will lead by example and I expect members of my cabinet and all public servants to do the same. I will be accountable and periodically provide the update on the achievements and challenges of my administration, your expectation must be rooted in the reality of the state.

 

“Actions will have consequences, and I will call all people to discharge their obligations with righteousness, people must develop a progressive mindset and discard all habits that yield indiscipline and criminality. Civility would become the must expectation and I urge all households to cultivate the value of Islam.”

 

Radda then promised to create jobs opportunities, fight insecurity, empower women and youths, introduce a single treasury account, check ghost workers and partner federal government for development to strive for the state
