President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, held a bilateral meeting with Chinese Special Envoy, led by the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Peng Qinghua, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The team, which arrived the Villa at about 3:30pm, had earlier represented the People’s Republic of China at the Presidential inauguration ceremony on Monday.
Though the details of discussions at the meeting was not disclosed to the media, it was believed it would centre around strengthening relations between Nigeria and China under the Tinubu administration.
The delegation included the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, and his deputy.
It would be recalled that the President had on Monday evening, after the inauguration ceremony, held similar meetings with Envoys and Heads of Missions of some countries, including those of the United Kingdom, United States, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Brazil, South Korea, Israel, Cape Verde, Somalia and Nicaragua.
