The first batch of 559 pilgrims from Jigawa State have departed Dutse International Airport to Saudi Arabia for 2023 Hajji exercise.

Addressing the pilgrims before their departure, the state Governor Malam Umar Namadi urged them to pray for Jigawa State and Nigeria when performing their Hajj in the holy land.

He reminded the intending pilgrims to use the training given to them by Hajj officials and also adhere to the rules and regulations governing the exercise and that of the Saudi Arabian government.

Governor Namadi called on the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state during their stay in holy land.

In his speech at the airport, executive secretary of the state pilgrims welfare board, Alhaji Umar Labbo assured the pilgrims that the board will continue to stand by them to ensure the success in conducting successful hajj (Hajj Mabrur).

Labbo added that the board had made adequate and good arrangements for the Pilgrims’ transportation, accommodation, feeding and other logistics for hitch free Hajji exercise.

“For this year’s hajj, we have a total of 2,627 intending Pilgrims and we have secured their visa, also we have remitted N4 billion to National Hajj Commission as their fare”.
