Kwara State government is working out more palliatives for the essential workers to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy withdrawal on them.
The state government had on Monday reduced the working days from five to three for the civil servants in the state.
But, the essential workers like teachers and health personnel were not captured in those arrangements as their duties require them to be at work at all times.
It was in the light of the above that the government is considering some palliatives for the workers in that category.
A statement from the office of the state’s head of service, Mrs Susan Oluwole said the government would work out some allowances for the essential workers.
The statement signed by the head of service’s press secretary, Murtala Atoyebi reads:” The Kwara State Government is not ignorant of the evolving challenges of the removal of fuel subsidy.”
