Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, has called two additional witnesses at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) to further prove his allegation of irregularities at the presidential election.

On their part, Labour Party and its candidate played a video as evidence before the court where the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) assured Nigerians in a broadcast that the process was going to be free, fair and credible.

Atiku and the PDP are in court to challenge the outcome of the Feb. 25 presidential election on the grounds that the INEC did not conduct the election according to provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.

At the sitting of the court yesterday, Ms Alheri Ayuba, a subpoenaed witness, told the court that she was not happy that she was unable to upload the results from her polling unit onto the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IREV).

“There was a form that I filled at the ward centre where I stated that I was not happy at my inability to transmit the result.

“I could not log into the system, if I had logged into the system and posted the result perhaps it could have been pending and when network came, it would upload,” she said.

The witness also told the court that she was not induced or influenced by any politician before or during the election.

Also testifying, Ms Sadiya Haruna, also on subpoena, told the court that not everything went on well during the conduct of the election as her Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, (BVAS) machine malfunctioned.

Haruna also told the court that the result she entered manually at her polling unit was what she took to her ward collation officer and party agents assigned to the unit monitored the whole process.

The witness further told the court that she snapped the result as collated manually on the result sheet with the BVAS machine but that she couldn’t ascertain if it was retained in the machine or not.
