Senior special assistant to Abia State governor, Clifford Agbaeze has said the administration would boost the economy of the state and create employment through the agriculture sector.

Agbaeze spoke at an interactive meeting with the management staff of the ministry of agriculture in Umuahia, the state capital, saying the meeting was to gather information on how to improve the sector.

He said if properly harnessed, the sector has potentials to stimulate and create employment for the youths and stem the tide of poverty and social vices in the society among other benefits.

“Your input”, Agbaeze noted, “will provide the administration key information to fastrack its vision to deliver democracy dividends in food security, revenue generation, and employment opportunities.”

In his remarks, the permanent secretary of the ministry, Okey Ihedioha said the ministry has a crop of seasoned, qualified, disciplined, and committed staff required to drive the vision.

He said as the administration is stabilizing, there was the need for staff motivation, good working relationship, training and retraining, and provision of modern equipment and tools for maximum productivity.
