As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, some Christians in Kaduna joined them to celebrate as part of efforts to strengthen Muslim-Christian relationship in the State.

The General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Pastor Yohana Buru who led a delegations of some Christians to the Eid-el-Kabir prayer ground at Murtala square said their aim is to strengthen peaceful coexistence in the State.

He said that such celebration is an opportunity for Christians to meet, dialogue and interact with other faith to promote inter-religious tolerance, peace in the country.

He said that the mosque committee invited him for the second time to join them, and this time he came with some other Christians, with the sole aims of promoting peaceful coexistence and religious tolerance, he added.

Pastor Buru who also delivered a lecture shortly after the prayers, stressed the need for the adherence of both religions to promote the culture of peace and harmony.

He said “We must remember that we are one family under God and worshipping the same God. We all have holy books sent from one God (Qur’an and bible)”.

He therefore called on all Nigerians to embrace peace and unity, love one another, saying Nigeria can achieve its full potential if Nigerians put aside their differences and work together to build a stronger, more united Nigeria.
