The president of TNN, Dr. Modibbo Yakubun Farakwai, said the need for good governance and promotion of democratic values necessitated the appointment of Yuguda.

Modibbo said the TNN Board of Trustees accepted the recommendation of the executive committee to appoint Yuguda as a national patron of the group.

He said, “In line with the provision of the constitution of Team New Nigeria, an organisation that seeks to promote good governance and sustain genuine democratic values in Nigeria, and based on the unanimous decision of the Board of Trustees and the National Executive Committee of this organisation, we convey to you, your appointment as a national patron of the TNN.
