First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the traditional title of Ugoeze of Anambra during her one-day official visit to the state.

The title was bestowed on the First Lady by the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Igwe Chidubem Iweka, as a mark of appreciation for her contributions to national development and her support for her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to a statement by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, the conferment formed part of the First Lady’s engagements in Anambra, where she also flagged off the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East zone.

The intervention is aimed at tackling child malnutrition in the region, with the Anambra flag-off completing the national rollout of the programme across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

Speaking during the visit, Senator Tinubu said political leanings should be put aside when addressing the needs of Nigerians.

Addressing residents who gathered at Alex Ekwueme Square, she described the completion of the zonal rollout as “mission accomplished,” expressing hope for Nigerian children.

She also called for renewed interest in child nutrition across all levels of government and commended Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, and his wife for their policies and programmes.

The First Lady further inaugurated a new RHI/TETFUND ICT Experience Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, where she interacted with students and encouraged them to explore constructive uses of technology, particularly artificial intelligence.
