The fire men undertook the recovery operation on Thursday following a tip off from one SP Dolapo of ‘B Division’ police station, Ilorin.

The spokesman of the state Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, confirmed the recovery of the woman’s corpse from Asa river, in a statement on Friday.

Adekunle said: “Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, the firemen swiftly and effectively demonstrated their exceptional skills and expertise in recovering the woman’s body from the river.

He thanked SP Dolapo for giving the Fire Service prompt information about the incident, noting that the police’s response and collaboration with the Fire Service highlighted the significance of inter- agency cooperation in dealing with emergencies.
