The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) wishes to clarify its stance on recent publications associating it with support for gay rights. The association categorically denies any such claims and emphasizes that they do not align with its core values.

Ambassador Emmanuel Nkweke, the International Spokesman of IAWPA, addressed this matter in a press statement, expressing concern over unidentified individuals attempting to link the association to LGBTQ rights. He asserted that IAWPA has never adopted a position in favor of such rights.

Ambassador Nkweke further explained that IAWPA, being mindful of its African heritage, views LGBTQ rights as incompatible with African traditions and customs. Consequently, the association firmly rejects any form of support for these rights, irrespective of external pressure.

The statement released by IAWPA commends African leaders who have openly condemned the practice of same-sex relationships as contrary to their religious and cultural beliefs. The association aligns itself with the Catholic Church and other prominent figures who have taken a stand against such practices.

IAWPA emphasizes its commitment to peace advocacy and underscores that the acceptance of gay rights does not align with its mission. The association firmly believes that peace can be achieved through avenues that do not encompass the promotion of LGBTQ rights.

When questioned about the association’s position on LGBTQ rights, Amb. Per Stafsen, the World Peace President, made it clear that the promotion of gay rights or the rights of the LGBTQ community is not a part of IAWPA’s agenda. He stated that throughout the association’s existence, there have been no discussions or endorsements related to LGBTQ issues. Any individual advocating for such interests should be regarded as expressing personal convictions rather than representing the official stance of IAWPA.
