Owohunwa giving an account of the various degrees of crimes perpetrated by the suspects explained that suspected members of a cult, Kesari Confraternity, who planned to retaliate against their leader’s death in the Mushin area of the state, were arrested on June 30.

“Police operatives swung into action and arrested four suspects: Tobi Robert, 23; Opeyemi Adeosun, 22; Jenkeo Olumide, 20; Toheeb Tajudeen, 25; and Nurudeen Kazeem, 27.

He added that investigation revealed that they are a notorious armed robbery, cultism gang terrorising Mushin and its environs.

The Lagos police boss alludes that the suspects had confessed to being members of the Eiye Confraternity, assuring that investigation is ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members and recover more of their operational arms.

Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson, Ben Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police added that two Eiye confraternity members were also arrested in the Ebute-Metta area on Tuesday while they were brandishing arms to go and attack rival cult members in the same area.

He said the operatives arrested 10 others, including a female member at Iba Okokomaiko after they allegedly killed one person identified as Ojo Lion.

“The suspects confessed to being members of Eiye confraternity. Locally made single barrel pistols with two live cartridges were recovered from them,” he said.
