President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Isaiah Kemje Benjamin, has congratulated Honourable Abubakar Ekene Adams for his emergence as the new chairman of the House Committee on Sports in the 10th National Assembly.

This was contained in a statement signed by his media Aide, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, yesterday, describing Ekene Adams appointment as well deserved.

“This appointment is well deserved. Honourable Ekene Adams has been an athlete, an administrator and a core lover of sports.

“ I recall years back, when a few disgruntled elements tried to cause confusion in Kaduna SWAN when I was the chairman, he made a difference by coming in to pacify all parties involved,” SWAN President recalled.

He expressed optimism that Honourable Ekene Adams would do a lot to impact sports positively as Reps Sports Committee chairman.

“We wish him well as he chairs the committee and I appeal to all members of his committee and agencies they will oversee to give him the maximum cooperation,” Benjamin said.

Recall that Honourable Ekene Adams, who is the chairman and CEO of the defunct Kada City FC, before venture into politics in 2023, was the general manager of Remo Stars.

He also chaired a sports committee created by immediate past Kaduna State Speaker of the House of Assembly, Ibrahim Zailani.
