Bauchi State governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has sworn in new caretaker committee chairmen and their deputies for the 20 local government areas of the state.

The swearing in followed the screening and confirmation of the chairman and deputies by the state House of Assembly.

At the ceremony in the multipurpose indoor sports hall of Bauchi on Wednesday, the governor warned the chairmen to avoid desists from allowing ghost workers syndrome in their respective local governments.

He said a lot of effort was made to clean both the nominal and salary payroll of all the local government areas in the state, hence the government will not take it lightly with anyone found wanting in that regard.

Mohammed also directed the chairmen to prepare modalities in their respective domains for the distribution of palliatives to cushion current hardship faced by citizens following removal of fuel subsidy.
