Kaduna FA Normalization Committee To Hold State FA Election Sept 9

In compliance with the directive of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the Kaduna State Football Association normalization committee has fixed 9th September for the election of the State Executive Committee (SEC).

Similarly, the elections into the Local Football Council (LFC) for the 23 local local government areas of the State has been fixed to hold from the 1st to the 3rd of September, 2023.

The normalization committee has also inaugurated a five-man appeal committee in the event that there arises an appeal from the elections.

The appeal committee is headed by Barr Musa Ahmed with Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim, Dr Alex Mana, Alh Ahmadu Maude and Dr Tijjani Yusuf as members.

The Kaduna FA Normalization Committee Chairman, Hon. Sabo Babayaro disclosed the election schedule during a stakeholders meeting which held at the Murtala Mohammed Square.

According to “Election into local government council will hold from 1st to 3rd September, 2023, while that of the State Executive Committee will hold on the 9th of September, 2023” adding that all the elections will hold in Zaria on the respective dates with venue to be communicated accordingly.

Hon.Babayaro assured the stakeholders that the appeal committee members are tested and trusted oersons, and would be given the necessary support to succeed in their assignment

He also stated that the election procedures would be transparent and that credibility had been prioritized above all in the organization of the upcoming elections.

He said, “I will never conduct election that will tarnish my image, I will make sure we have credible election, and when we have credible election both the winner and the looser would be happy, because it is transparent, and there would be no room for Appeal”.

He noted that the affiliation for clubs association, organisation and others will commence 11th to 18th August, 2023.

In his speech, Kaduna State Commissioner for Sports Development, Prof. Benjamin Kumai-Gugong said that the Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani is committed in moving sports forward in the State.

 

According to him, Gov. Sani is a sports friendly governor who is always ready to move sports to the next level.

 

“I assure you that the governor is interested in sports. We are going to redeem our lost glory in terms of football in Kaduna State”.

 

All the stakeholders in attendance in their various speeches assured to give maximum support to the normalization committee to achieve their mandate of conducting free, fair and credible elections.
