Auto Crash Claims 5 In Anambra

Five persons have lost their lives in an auto crash in Anambra State.

The victims who included three male and two female adults died at Eke-Agu Market area in Abatete community, Idemili-North local government area on the Onitsha-Ogidi-Abatete Road.

Findings by the operatives of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) showed that the accident which occurred at 4.25pm on Saturday was caused by over-speeding by the driver of the commercial Sienna brand of Toyota vehicle conveying the victims.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle was incidentally the only survivor of the six persons in the vehicle belonging to a popular commercial transport company, Onisha South Local Government.

The corps commander of the FRSC in Anambra, Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, in his reaction expressed sympathy with the family members of the deceased and warned motorists to desist from over speeding.

He wished the injured driver of the vehicle who at the time of filing this report was still recuperating in a hospital as a result of severe injuries he sustained during the crash quick recovery.
