We Are Set To Harness Abia North’s Economic Potential – Dep Gov

Abia State deputy governor, Ikechukwu Emetu, has said the present administration in the state is set to aggregate, harness and maximise the economic potential of Abia North zone.

Emetu stated this when leaders of the Abia North Forum visited him in Umuahia, saying the move was aimed at developing and creating job opportunities in the zone.

“Our mission is to industrialise and build lasting infrastructure in the zone as in the others. By so doing, we’ll be attracting investors and improving the revenue base of the state,” he said.

He added that in the same vein, the administration had commenced moves to flush out criminal elements who have been operating along the Umunneochi and Isuikwuato local governments axis.

Earlier, the president of the forum, Ituma Okereke, appealed to the administration to prioritise economic development of the zone by exploiting the natural and human resources it is blessed with.

Okereke, whose address was read by the secretary of the forum, Gabriel Okeke, commended the governor, Alex Otti and Emetu for the achievements the administration has so far recorded.
