Robert Helenius has said that the potential heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder would be “very successful for both”.

The Finnish star was stopped in seven rounds by Joshua last week and he was only able to last a matter of seconds when taking on Wilder last year.

Talks are currently ongoing for Joshua and Wilder to collide in the first part of 2024 and it is a fight that has got the boxing industry buzzing.

The contest is still not confirmed with hurdles still to overcome but Helenius believes it is an interesting fight and he has offered his opinion on what will be a blockbuster battle.

“Well, it’s hard to say, and it’s a little bit too early. I haven’t even thought about that yet, but I think it would be an interesting fight,” said Helenius when speaking to FightHype.

“Of course, against Wilder the one round that it took it was also like an accident [from me]. I didn’t think he could fight on his back foot, and he trained that, so he’s also adapting [as a] boxer.

“It’s an interesting question. It would be a very, very successful fight for both I think.”
