Chimoney, a Toronto-based pioneering global large-volume payouts platform, has announced its acceptance into the esteemed Techstars Toronto Accelerator program.
Chimoney’s mission is to unlock economic opportunities for everyone by making global payments accessible to everyone, regardless of their location or financial status, and its participation in the Techstars program represents a significant step forward in achieving this goal.
Uchi Uchibeke, the Nigerian-born founder of Chimoney, said, “Our acceptance into Techstars Toronto is a significant milestone in our journey to democratize global payments. We’re excited to work with Techstars to further our mission and bring financial empowerment to more people around the world. Financial inclusion is not just a buzzword for us; it’s a mission that drives us every day.”
Uchi knows firsthand the challenges of financial exclusion. He moved to Canada for school and experienced the difficulties of not being able to pay tuition due to government and financial uncertainty in Nigeria. After working at Shopify, RBC, and IBM, and founding AfricaHacks, Uchibeke founded Chimoney to address the challenges he faced and empower others.
The journey of Chimoney started with a simple yet powerful idea – to democratize global payments and foster financial inclusion. Today, millions of people worldwide lack access to traditional banking systems, making it difficult for them to receive payments and participate in the global economy.
The platform addresses this challenge by enabling businesses to send bulk payouts to emails, phone numbers, or Twitter handles, empowering recipients to cash out to banks, gift cards, crypto, mobile money, airtime, and more. With Chimoney, Businesses can pay one or one million people anywhere in the world with the click of a button using just an email or phone number.
Chimoney’s impact extends beyond the fintech industry. By providing a flexible and inclusive payments solution, Chimoney is breaking down barriers, creating new opportunities, and helping people worldwide access the funds they need to improve their lives. Whether it’s a remote worker in a developing country, a student receiving a scholarship, or a community member getting rewarded, Chimoney is making a difference in people’s lives every day.
Its vision for economic empowerment is resonating with investors and partners alike. With its innovative platform, ambitious mission, and backing from investors like Techstars, Chimoney is poised to make a significant impact on the global payments landscape.
