The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has said the government house had been vacant since May 29th, 2023.

Anyanwu made the disclosure during the inauguration of the party’s governorship campaign council at their secretariat on Tuesday.

According to him, the Douglas House became vacant since May 29, saying “let me tell you, I see nobody in Douglas House, that place is empty since 29th May 2023. By November 12th, the songs of victory will be sung in every nook and cranny of Imo state of PDP.

“Our youths will not be killed again, our health centres will work, pensioners will take their pride of place. I fear nobody, let them come and shoot me, they can’t do anything to me. I know where I’m coming from because the die is cast. I want to bring power back to the PDP. I want to stop the blood letting in Imo”, Anyanwu said.

He however warned against double faced party agents within the PDP saying “I must warn our agents and leaders. If on November 11th, they (opponents) come to give you money, refuse it because once you collect it, whatever you see, you take. My brothers and sisters, please let’s come together and make Imo safe again”, the PDP National Secretary said.

Earlier, the state party chairman, Engr Charles Ugwu appealed to party members to eschew past grievances and offence and work towards the victory of PDP at the polls.

Ugwu assured the party members that together, they will win the gubernatorial election saying they will restore the glory of the eastern heartland state.

The party announced federal lawmaker, Ikenga Ugochinyere Imo as the chairman, Hon Ugonna Ozuruigbo as Orlu zonal chairman, Hon Ngozi Ogbu as Okigwe zonal chairman, Hon Mike Iheanetu as Owerri zonal leader, and several others.

Secretary of the campaign council, Prince Marshall who spoke on behalf of the council declared their readiness to reclaim the government house.

According to him, Governor Uzodimma was too scared to attend village meetings in Omuma as a result of insecurity in the state.
