The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of South East All Progressives Congress (APC) has passed a vote of confidence on its chairman, Samuel Okechukwu Agu, dismissing the rumour that he was removed from office.

This followed the end of a meeting held in Gwagwalada at the weekend by members of the forum across the Six Area Councils of FCT.

A member of the forum and senior special assistant on Religious Matters to the chairman of Gwagwalada area council, Matthew Orji, while speaking on behalf of the members, said Agu’s enormous effort in projecting activities of the party earned him their support.

According to the members, the rumour in circulation that Agu has been removed was false and aimed at misleading other members of APC, especially in FCT, who are not familiar with the development.

Orji stressed that the vote of confidence would prove the ability of Agu to lead supporters of the party.

“This is a clear manifestation of Agu’s enormous effort to project APC well for South East members in the FCT,” he said.

Also, the forum chairman Mr Okechukwu Agu appreciated members for their support, describing it as a result of his Open door policy since he became the leader.

He said the doors of the FCT APC South-East forum will continue to remain wide open for new members, especially to their members who went to other political parties before the General elections.

Agu, also urged the leadership of the FCT under the present minister, Nyesom Wike to consider the forum when the need arises.
