Northern Professionals Urge Tinubu To Consider Liman For Cabinet Slot

The Nigerian Forum of Northern Professionals and Technocrats (NFNPT) has urged President Bola Tinubu to consider a legal icon, Dr Hassan Liman (SAN), for a ministerial slot in his cabinet.

The forum noted that with the remarkable achievements of the learned silk as counsel to notable government institutions, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as well as his contributions to Nigeria’s jurisprudence, his appointment as a cabinet member will rekindle belief and hope for a more progressive and meaningful administration in which experienced professionals and technocrats are given the opportunity to contribute to nation building.

In a statement issued at the end of their annual conference on Tuesday in Abuja, the northern professionals and technocrats said Liman’s political antecedents, having served as a Director, Legal Directorate, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, speak volume and deserve to be rewarded with suitable appointment.

“Also, Dr Hassan Liman’s deep sense of patriotism, sincere devotion to duty and his commitment to improving democracy and deepen jurisprudence in our great country, Nigeria, remain unequalled despite distractions from some opposition elements,” the statement signed by the national leader of the NFNPT, Ambassador G S Ibrahim, Mni and secretary, Alhaji Yekini Adeniyi, PhD, noted.

Besides, the forum added that as lead council in most cases involving elected governors, Senators Rep members and state Houses of Assembly members at the tribunals, as well as a member of President Tinubu’s legal team, Liman deserves “to be rewarded to encourage other party loyalists in the country.

“Armed with track records in the legal profession, Hassan Liman (SAN), a strong supporter of the ruling APC and President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has contributed his wealth of knowledge and finances to Tinubu’s grassroots movements. 

“His commitment to the campaign that produced the Renewed Hope administration attest to the fact that the erudite legal luminary will add impetus to the ongoing bid to revamp the country,” the forum stated.

The northern professionals and technocrats promised to meet with President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima and National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to further make a strong case for Liman to be appointed into the cabinet.

“We have concluded plans and very soon we shall seek audience with the President, Vice President and National Security Adviser to submit his credentials for scrutiny. We are quite convinced that they will find Dr Liman to be one of the best hands that could foster rapid development, economic recovery and return of Nigeria to its list glory among the comity of nations ad a member of President Tinubu’s cabinet,” the statement further said.
