An activist, Dorothy Nuhu Aken’Ova, has described the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Court affirming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the validly elected president of Nigeria, as a decisive judicial resolution.

Last Wednesday, all the five members of the court in Abuja, unanimously affirmed Tinubu as the validly elected president of Nigeria.

Commenting on the development in Abuja, Aken’Ova said Tinubu’s victory had demonstrated the credibility of the Nigerian judicial system, adding that his victory will catalyze positive change in Nigeria.

While celebrating the judicial victory, Aken’Ova acknowledged that there may be those who are disappointed with the outcome of the tribunal’s ruling, and encouraged them to channel their grievances through lawful and peaceful means such as appeals within the legal framework.

She emphasised the importance of respecting the democratic process and allowing the judiciary to carry out its role without interference.

She, however, expressed hope that the panel’s decision will pave the way for a new chapter of progress and development in Nigeria.

Aken’Ova expressed optimism that the judicial affirmation will invigorate Tinubu and his cabinet to pursue economic growth, social development and improved governance.

She urged the government to prioritise poverty eradication, education, healthcare, and security which are pressing concerns for the Nigerian people.

Aken’Ova called on all Nigerians to put a stop to divisive utterances capable of causing harm to democracy and urged them to unite and work for the betterment of the nation regardless of their political affiliations.
