The Imo State governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh, has said the election is an opportunity to save the state and charged leaders of the state to support him.

Speaking in Owerri, he said the state was currently being misruled as the past three years had been characterised by agony and total departure from people-driven governance.

Hon. Odunzeh said the state had been overwhelmed by insecurity, unemployment, youth restiveness and unproductivity.

He called on leaders of the state to show concern and speak up.

“I commend the boldness of the former governor of Imo State,  Owelle Rochas Okorocha when he stated that Imo leaders should come together to save the state.

“I want to use this forum to remind the former governor that the time has come to implement that call by supporting my aspiration as the only candidate who has the needed capacity to restore the lost glory of Imo.

“I also use this opportunity to call on my brother, former governor Emeka Ihedioha that his decision and comments are needed mostly in this period. It is said that silence is golden but this time silence is not golden.

“I have come to serve and redefine our origin as the eastern heartland and appeal to Chief Udenwa, Senator Okorocha, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and Senator Ararume to show concern in this journey of saving Imo State and support me,” he said.
