Police border patrol team attached to Saranfo- Maje road of Tsamiya district in Bagudo local government area of Kebbi State have intercepted two trucks loaded with Indian hemp and live cartridges worth N600 million.
Two drivers of the trucks; Emmanuel Chukuma from Abia State and Abdulrazak Agboola from Oyo State and two others; Kanta Bisa, a Ghanian and Shola Adeyemi from Ondo State were apprehended and detained by the command.
Police spokesman, SP Nafi’u Abubakar, who briefed journalists yesterday over the development at the command’s headquarters in Birnin Kebbi said they told the police during interrogation that they drove the trucks from Ghana with the illicit substances heading to Lagos but were arrested at the Maje border in Kebbi State.
Abubakar said they would be in police custody while investigation progresses.
He advised residents to provide relevant information on criminals and their activities.
