The founder, Home for the Needy Foundation,  a non-governmental Organisation (NGO), Pastor Solomon Folorunsho, has appealed to the federal government  and well-meaning individuals to support the over 3,000 people displaced by Boko Haram insurgency victims taking refuge at the foundation.

The foundation is located at Uhogua in Ovia North East local government area of Edo State.

Addressing a news conference at the weekend, Folunrunsho used  the opportunity to unveil some of the successes recorded in changing the lives of the inmates since its inception, disclosing that the camp  had produced graduates and 200 students studying various professional courses in Nigeria universities.

He lamented that the rising inflation in the country had affected the cost of running the camp and appealed for support on scholarships, food, accommodation and sporting facilities among others.

He said, “Among these inmates are current graduates of first class, second class upper division. Further, over 200 students are reading various courses such as law, medicine & surgery, nursing, engineering and accounting. A lot others are presently preparing to go to the Law School.

“The foundation also has over 2,900 students and pupils in our primary and secondary schools located within the camp. Apart from this, widows and those who are not too educationally inclined are also not left out. We provide them with training such as tailoring, cosmetology and fishery.

“I therefore use this opportunity to call on well-meaning individuals, international donor organizations, embassies and government at all levels to come to our aid in our humanitarian service.”
